Painkillers

We don't mean the usual stuff for headache and hangover here. Those can be bought at any drugstore without prescription. This stuff is for those situations where you have to be able to act with one hand holding your guts in and without kneecaps. There is no use taking more than one dose of this stuff, since after one period of effect uncosciousness follows, no matter how many doses have been taken. This stuff is for solos and gang-members etc. since real medics won't even spit in the direction of anything this crude. The effect is, that you don't need to react to being injured - at least for a while. As a side-effect, because this stuff inhibits neural transmitters, all cybernetics stop working for the duration of the dose. Tough luck if you have cyberlegs - maybe you could try crawling away from the line of fire...

Nopain Works for wounded-level injuries. Period of effect is 20 minutes, after which follows 5 minutes of uncosciousness. Slows healing by +25%. Cost 300+ Eyen

Nobrain Works for anything but death. Period of effect is 10 minutes, after which follows 10 minutes of unconsciousness. Slows healing by +75%. Cost 500+ Eyen

Healing stuff

These are the tools of the medics. Usually other people have only Tissuefix, if even that. No use of overdoing it with these either; if you take more than one kind, only the strongest has any effect. Same with multiple doses: Only one dose at a time will work. All of these have period of effect of one hour. During that hour metabolism speeds up tremendously. A smart medic will fix the patient with IV and catheter, otherwise the patient will have wet trousers and huge thirst after the treatment. All of these produce a dizzy after-state for half an hour, like the effect of middling-strog downer. If any drugs (including alcohol) are taken durig this period there will follow 15 minutes of unconsciousness, because the body is a bit overwhelmed after the speedup. Caffeine and nicotine just make you unable to walk.

Tissuefix -50% to healing for one hour. Cost 400+ Eyen

Healon -90% to healing fo one hour. Cost 800+ Eyen

Other stuff

Soberup Your heavy-user techie has again relocated his mind to outer space and the time-bomb is ticking... what to do? Dont worry! This is exactly why your nice chemists have designed Soberup. Just one shot, and the metabolism is speeded up to such rate that any stuff in the body is dealt with and neutralized in 15 minutes. Also bladder, bowels and stomach will emptied quite thoroughly. It would be thoughtful to undress the patient and put him to a tiled bathroom, or such, preferably one with a floor drain. This stuff might speed up the metabolism, but it sure does not heal, quite the opposite: After this the liver will be so sore from overworking, that one hit in the stomach will mean lights out. Same with any drugs, including alcohol. Life-expectancy will drop one year from each use. After five uses (this is for normal body-type, strong can take one more, weak one less etc.) there will be memory loss. After seven (modifiers as before) motor functions will start to suffer (tremors, trouble walking etc. This stuff will reverse any fatal overdose. Cost 150+ Eyen.

Stabi There's not always a medic around when you need one. With Stabi you dont have to be that good in first aid - it gives you +1 to your stabilizing skill. Alternatively it gives 5 more minutes to get the victim to competent care before his condition worsens. There is no use in giving more than one dose, because after the first five minutes the patients condition starts to worsen again, no matter what. The wounded person can be conscious when under Stabi, but at most will be able to only whisper and move just fingertips. Stabi stops any worsening in the condition of a wounded person for one hour. The effect is the result of a radical reduction in body metabolism, so healing will slow by 75% for 12 hours. This, by the way, is wonderful stuff if you are running out of oxygen since reduced metabolism also reduces the respiration rate by 50%. Cost 150+ Eyen. Cost 150+ MCR.

Empboost Some people just cannot get along with others. There can be many reasons for this, but perhaps the most common (outside ordinary psychosis) is too much cybertech. Some people start to behave like machines when they have too much metal in them. For this there is Empboost; when you need to nice and human and maybe even be able to negotiate or make a romantic conquest, you take this. One dose makes you sort of neutrally civil for an hour, three doses make you nice. More of it has no extra effect. Except for this: If you take more than six doses in 24 hours you will get all the disadvantages or "real" empathy. No mystical healing powers, but you will recieve all strong physical feelings that you can see or hear in others. If you see someone with painfully broken leg, you cant walk either. This is not a PSI-power; you just empathise with what you can see in other people. This state lasts for 2 hours from the moment when the sixth dose was taken. Cost 300+ Eyen
