Wanderer IIIc
Larp-etiquette
Things that you have to keep in mind, especially in Wanderer 3c:
- You may NOT cause a permanent or semipermanent bodily or cosmetic damage
to other players, e.g. cut the other person's hair (unless agreed to
off-game)
- Safe word MUST be obeyed under all circumstances
- Safe word is NOT to be used lightly. If you manage without it, please do
In the following a short reminder of what LARP generally is and is
not:
LARP is
-
Having fun:
People come to LARP to have fun, so even if you are bored don't ruin
the game for others intentionally
-
Experience:
There are lot of people on site who intend to enjoy the atmosphere
whatever happens, so if you can't play your character, step aside and
don't ruin the atmosphere.
-
Co-operation:
How grandiose the surroundings of the game may be and
how motivated and skilled the gamemasters, a game still won't succeed
without help from the players. So please spend some time on your
character, learn it, get the gear and try to get "inside" the
character. If for one reason or another you cannot play your character
or get the neccessary gear, contact your gamemaster As Soon As
Possible, so that something can be done about it.
-
Playing the character:
The better you play your charcter the more enjoyable the game is for
you and the fellow players. If you manage to really make the charcter
alive during the game, you can be sure to remember the game for years.
-
Exceeding yourself:
LARPing and doing other relevant things, you'll notice that there
and there you exceed yourself.
-
Crushing prejudices:
Possible prejudices of yours maybe won't disappear totally, but your
attitudes might change for the better, when you experience new things
from a different point of view.
LARP is not
-
Hurting other people:
If you want to use real weapons or really fight with people, is LARP
a wrong hobby for you. People come to LARPs to have fun, not to land
on intensive care, so use your common sense.
-
Mindless rampaging:
It is often possible to cause many kinds of damage on events. For
example: Even if it is possible to go around in the ventilation shafts,
you still don't do it.
-
Political or religious event:
No matter how much political and/or religious elements the game might
have, they don't take note on any "real-world" matters. And even if
you recognize something as a parody of an existing element, it is good
to remember that in LARPs everything is parodied equally.
-
Reality:
Anything that happens during the game is not to be taken too seriously.
Especially with human relationships even the more experienced players
mix the actions of the character and the player. No matter how hot the
affair your character had during the game was, it still does not mean
that the other player is in love with you.
